Brantôme in Périgord

The Abbey of Saint-Pierre de Brantôme is an ancient Benedictine abbey founded in 769 by Charlemagne in the diocese of Périgueux.

Today, the abbey church (11th-13th centuries), part of the cloister (14th century) and the conventual buildings (17th century), which house two municipal museums as well as the town hall of Brantôme, remain from this imposing building.
